The Mercator is located at the Mercatordok Oostende (between city hall & railway station). The entrance fee should preferably be paid by card at the ship's entrance. Buying a ticket on the spot is no problem.
You do not need to book in advance for an individual visit. For group visits, we ask you to submit a group request.
Opening hours
Open daily, even during holiday periods, except Monday (closing day).
- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- last visit starts at 4 p.m.-4.15 p.m.
- last visit with a school/group starts at 3.30 p.m.-3.45 p.m.
Rates Standard
- Adult: € 7
- Children (up to 4 years old): Free
- Youngsters (up to 12 years old): € 5
- Student* (up to 25 years old): € 6
- Teacher*: € 6
*Only valid on presentation of a valid student or teacher card
Rates Schools/Groups
- Schools up to 12 years old: € 3
- Schools up to 18 years old: € 5
- Groups of 20 or more: € 6 per person
Toegankelijkheid
To visit the Mercator, you need to be well on your feet. To enter the boat, there is a step to cross the gangway and inside the boat itself there are steep stairs and narrow corridors.
- NOT allowed on board: dogs (except certified assistance dogs) and pushchairs
